To troubleshoot software problems please ensure for each laptop your are following the instructions:


1) Follow the instruction on http://www.acontests.com/tmd2/#nav-software

and downloaded: 

  • Google Chrome or Firefox
  • CDM20814_Setup.exe (FTDI driver), 
  • ToF monitor software

2) Install device driver:


Run CDM20814_Setup.exe using account with Administrator rights in Windows XP or "Run as administrator" for Windows 7

3) Connect the converter and see some response from the system (sound, or "new hardware" bulb)

4) Launch the software. (launcher.exe), press allow for every win7 firewall promt.


If you see "TMD not connected" please do the following:

5) Open the Device Manager

win7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows7/Open-Device-Manager


7) Check that  "Ports (COM & LPT) > USB Serial Port (COMXXX)" is presented. Please notice «COM XXX» string


Instead XXX you should see the number between 1 and 100. If it is – go to step 8 if it is not – double check everything is properly connected, and drivers is installed and try it with another laptop.


8) Open software installation folder, right click file sa2.cfg, select «Open With», select Word Pad from programs list. 


9) Edit text file so that lime «tmd_address: » contained «COMXXX» string that you noticed in step 7 In case of this example it is COM1.

10) Save file, close WordPad, try to relaunch the software
