You can not connect TMD2 to tablet (iPad or Android) directly. However if you have laptop and Wi-Fi connection in the hall you will be able to access TMD2 software through wi-fi.
Here is your steps:

Setup TMD2 on your laptop. (follow this article to find out more)
- Launch TMD2 software
- Connect your iPad and laptop to the same Wi-Fi network
- Determine IP address of your laptop (how to: windows, os x)
- Open browser on your iPad and type in following address: http://<your-ip-address>:8080
If everything setup correctly you should see the same software on your tablet and you will be able to control TMD2 with your tablet.
Notes:

Do not stop the software running on the laptop. Tablet is only for the remote control, all data are still on the laptop.
- You do not need internet connection, just local wi-fi network. You can use cheapest wi-fi router for that.
